Change Detection Research Interests
I am interested in change detection of different visual properties within a scene such as colors or locations of objects. Using the "flicker task" I have found that cues differentially facilitate the detection of changes made to these properties. Such differences can help us understand the roles that different visual properties play in early scene perception. I am also intersted in using change detection techniques to study how people select visual landmarks during navigation. I have found that detection of changes made to objects along a travel route is related to whether or not they are treated as landmarks by the traveler.

Other Research Interests
Visually-guided navigation, scene perception
